The Twin J8 is exactly what we were looking for. A big hit in our household.
Thanks to Chantal at Espresso Dolce who gave us a good run down on how it operates with a few tasty coffee samples; that was a big help in making our decision.
Once we understood the principles, and it’s not complicated, it is a breeze to operate. So many options! You can tweak your coffee to your favorite preference and save the settings in your profile. You can also adjust the settings of any coffee Jura as you wish on the fly without messing with your favorite presets. Great for experimenting and for guests.
The biggest selling feature for us was the built in twin grinders compared to other machines that had separate hoppers that needed to be switched for different beans. I drink decaf most of the time and it doesn’t mix with my wife’s espresso unless I opt for the ½ & ½ option, which is also a great option.
It makes a beautiful foam with whole milk. It also works well with a non-dairy barista milk.
The different in taste from our old machine using the same coffee beans is remarkable.
It is a big investment, but it does makes beautiful flavourful coffees in so many varieties and we are very happy with our purchase.
A few minor negative comments:
• The water level is hard to see (but the machine will tell you if it needs filling)
• A little high maintenance cleaning wise, just got to be on top of it to keep the coffee flavour consistent (but again, the machine will tell you)
• The instructions could be more explicit with better pictures to show the functions. It took a few readings to understand the full functionality of the Jura Twin J8. You Tube is also a good resource for tutorials. But once you have it dialed in, it’s fairly simple.
Easy to operate and very appealing design that will enhance any kitchen counter.

Everyone has different tastes in coffee, food, etc. I have had different coffee preferences over the years, but believe I have come home to the Goat blend. No sharp of bitter edges to this one. Just smooth, full body flavour. Good for espresso or a cup of coffee or latte. Best I have ever enjoyed.

I liked the previous pricing discount when I was able to purchase 10 bags (1 case) at one price. Now to buy 10 bags (1 case) it is buy 9 for $300 = $33.33 each bag then 1 bag at 10% off the 10th bag.

I really enjoy their coffee roasts. The beans are not oily and this keeps my grinder happy - and not gummed up. Prior to learning about Espresso Dolce, my grinder had become unusable because of oily beans. After two years of solely Espresso Dolce roasts, I have not had any problems. A suggestion for continued improvement would be to add a half-caf option (half espresso beans and half decaf). I believe this would be very popular as some people are looking to lower their caffeine intake - but not eliminate it altogether.

This is a very high quality espresso maker. It is fully automatic so all you need to do is to fill your favorite coffee beans and press a button. It will automatically grind, load and create espresso shots. You can pick one or double shot. It has also many other drink options. It has a very responsive and accurate touch screen. You can select any kind of drinl from the list. It produces good quality crema, which is nice sign. You can adjust grind setting t lower for getting better espresso. It allows you to customize your drink. Once it is customized, it saves the drink under your profile and produces same drink quality every-time. It is pretty compact and nice looking machine. Overall it is very well designed machine, however it is priced double than Magnifica Start, abut coffee quality is not better to justify that cost. If you need advance features like dual coffee beans box, then it makes sense, otherwise stick to Magnifica line.

With my first use, I was initially unhappy with the perceived somewhat less than hot milk temperature in my Latte Macchiato. I mean, I was getting to the VERY unhappy stage when I made the second, same result. THEN I read some of the reviews, one more time, and tried the "heating the cup" (thank you!) cup before launching into the drink. I put it in the microwave for 2.5 minutes while I was also busy getting my wife's Keureg machine ready. Then I went back to my own latte macchiato prep with the preheated cup. No more unhappy, was fine for me. Additionally, I checked on what the temps for the milk based drinks should reflect, and there are warnings about making the milk too hot (curdling). In the end, I guess, it's really up to the individual. This individual is happy with the many drinks I've made in the relatively short time I've had this machine. And, speaking of the DeLonghi Eletta Explore: I love the thought that went into this machine. The selection of drinks, cold/hot ... milk/otherwise is, to me, very impressive. Just this one person's thoughts, folks. Five stars ... :-)

The most amazing device I have ever owned. I hope it has great longevity. Making coffee is fun, and easy. And a fantastic brew at that. I love everything about the machine.
